A couple of years ago I experimented with encasing rivolis in triangle weave rather than bezelling them. The first one I did was an olivine rivoli, and I used olivine Czech fire polish rounds with some brighter green seed beeds and drops. I made a cubic RAW rope, and a tubular RAW bail, both embellished with drops. The clasp is formed from a rondelle encased in triangle weave, with drops to make a smaller version of the focal, and a peyote ring embellished with netting and drops.
The whole thing took weeks to make, and I don’t think I ever wore it, but at the same time I had enclosed a tanzanite rivoli in the same way, but using 4mm crystal bicones instead of the drops. I recently came across this focal and decided to make it into a necklace using 2 needle netting and a much simpler clasp.
